Khalilulah Ibrahim: The Engineer Bridging Energy Systems and Fintech Innovation

With an academic background in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and a Master’s degree in Energy Engineering from the University of Hull, Ibrahim has built a career that spans infrastructure, digital systems, and financial technology.
His early engineering work focused on safety-critical systems, including the design of a gas leak detection system aimed at improving industrial safety. However, his career quickly evolved into the digital space, where he began developing scalable software solutions.
At Paystack, a leading African fintech company, Ibrahim worked on backend systems responsible for processing high-volume transactions, contributing to improvements in system performance and efficiency. He later joined Kuda Bank, where he helped develop features for a mobile banking platform serving over two million users, supporting the growth of digital banking across Nigeria.
His experience at Flutterwave further expanded his exposure to financial systems, where he contributed to fraud detection initiatives and API development within a fast-paced engineering environment.
Beyond fintech, Ibrahim continues to engage with energy innovation. His postgraduate research explored radiative cooling energy harvesting for offshore wind applications, highlighting his interest in sustainable energy systems and emerging technologies.
