N’Assembly Aspirant, Fajemirokun-Ajayi Demands Protection of APC Primary Election Results
House of Representatives aspirant, Hon. Simisola Fajemirokun-Ajayi has called on the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), security agencies, and President Bola Tinubu to protect the integrity of the primary election exercise across Ile-Oluji, Oke-Igbo, and Odigbo Federal Constituency.
Fajemirokun-Ajayi in a statement issued Saturday said verified polling unit reports collated by agents across the constituency showed overwhelming grassroots support for her, particularly in Odigbo LGA; the largest voting bloc in the constituency.
She claimed that the current verified figures showed that she polled 4,247 votes, while Matthew Oyerinmade scored 1,790 votes and Festus Adefiranye got 788 votes
Fajemirokun-Ajayi added that she secured decisive victories across most Odigbo wards, including Agbabu, Ago-Alaye, Ajue, Araromi Obu, Ebijaw, Koseru, Odigbo, Ore I, and Ore II.
She noted: “However, despite the clear outcome reflected in polling unit reports, disturbing incidents of intimidation, disruption, and irregularities have been reported in parts of the constituency, including disruption of voting lines, absence of electoral officials, and attempts to compromise the results.
“Particularly troubling is the alleged conduct of certain aides and associates linked to the Ondo State Government, whose actions represent a serious blemish on the image of the APC and risk damaging the credibility of future party elections if unchecked.
“Democracy cannot survive where intimidation replaces fairness.
“Hon. Simi therefore calls on President Tinubu and the APC national leadership to protect ordinary party members, women, youths, and minority voices from political bullying and suppression.”
Fajemirokun-Ajayi appreciated every supporter and party member who came out peacefully to exercise their democratic right and stood firm despite intimidation, pressure, and attempts to suppress the will of the people.
