Nosh Launches eSIM Services and International Bill Payments to Expand Access to Global Connectivity
Nigerian fintech platform Nosh has introduced eSIM services and international bill payment capabilities to its platform, enabling users across Nigeria and West Africa to access global mobile data and settle cross-border financial obligations from a single application.
The update, which took effect in January 2025, allows users to purchase and activate mobile data plans for international destinations directly within the Nosh app, without requiring a physical SIM card. Alongside this, users can now pay bills across multiple African countries, including utilities and education fees, with transactions processed within 24 hours at transparent foreign exchange rates.
Chief Executive Officer Ahmod Balogun said the additions are part of a broader effort to simplify how Africans manage their financial and connectivity needs across borders.
“We are building for the way Africans actually live—across borders, across devices, and across financial needs,” Balogun said. “The eSIM and international payments features are a direct response to what our users have been asking for.”
The eSIM feature is designed for Nigerian travelers, remote workers, freelancers, and diaspora users who need reliable internet access across multiple countries. Users can select data coverage based on their destination and activate plans instantly, bypassing the cost and inconvenience of traditional roaming services or purchasing local SIM cards abroad. Nosh delivers this through partnerships with global telecommunications providers, offering localised data pricing across multiple regions.
The platform currently processes approximately 2.3 million transactions monthly and serves over 500,000 active users, recording 47 percent year-on-year growth in transaction volume. The company said retention is strongest among users who engage with more than one service on the platform.
With the new additions, Nosh now integrates five core service areas: gift card trading, local bill payments, international bill settlements, flight bookings, and eSIM-based global data plans.
The company holds digital banking licences in Nigeria and Ghana and is pursuing regulatory approvals ahead of planned expansions into Kenya, Senegal, South Africa, and Uganda.
