Christian Elders Task Leaders on Security, Economy, Electoral Integrity

The Northern Christian Elders’ Forum (NOSCEF), has called on governments at all levels to intensify efforts to address the growing security challenges in the country and implement sustainable economic policies to ease the hardship faced by Nigerians.

Chairman of the forum, Elder Sunday Oibe, made the appeal in a message felicitating  with Muslims on the occasion of Eid el Fitr.

He urged Nigerians to remain united and work collectively, irrespective of religious and ethnic differences, to promote peace, stability, and national cohesion.

Oibe stressed the need for peaceful, transparent, and credible electoral processes as the country looks ahead to the 2027 general election.

“Political leaders, institutions  and citizens must commit to non-violence, respect for the rule of law and the unity of the country before, during, and after the polls.

“Now more than ever, we must work together to promote peace, stability, and national cohesion. Our diversity should remain a source of strength, not division,” he said. 

NOSCEF congratulated Muslims across the country on the successful completion of Ramadan and the celebration of Eid el Fitr.

He urged Nigerians to use the festive period for sober reflection on the enduring values of love, compassion, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence, noting that such virtues were essential for strengthening national unity.
