Where Daniel Nwibo, a.k.a Nworie Jonathangot it wrong about EBSU’s management
Ken Ogalagu
I read with bated breath the contradictory fabrications of Daniel Nwibo, against the management of Ebonyi State University (EBSU) under erudite Prof. M. U. Awoke. Notwithstanding that the piece failed to achieve its unpatriotic and dishonourable objective of misleading the public and creating confusion in the academic community, I am concerned that the author, Daniel Nwibo, refused to put his face, name and address on his stillborn blackmail enterprise.
Why did Daniel Nwibo drag the name of my community, Okpoto, into his mischievous piece? It suffices that no Okpoto indigene bears the name, “Nworie Jonathan”. This impish approach is more worrisome when one recalls that this person claims both international connections and strong links to the power house of Ebonyi State.
For starters, it is in public domain that Nwibo’s recent bid to preside over EBSU College of Health Sciences as provost collapsed on grounds of lack of requisite qualifications and false professorial claims.
Why has Nwibo taken up arms against the management of EBSU under Prof. Awoke who shunned early concerns about the veracity of Nwibo’s claimed qualifications and appointed Nwibo provost of EBSU College of Health Sciences; and granted Nwibo benefits of the doubt until Nwibo’s lack of qualifications for the position was proved beyond doubts. Only then was Nwibo replaced with another qualified Izzi man, Dr. Edegbe.
The compassionate EBSU management created a new Institute for Professional Studies where Daniel Nwibo is being rehabilitated.
Nwibo’s traduction of EBSU management over his woes is an act of ingratitude. Doing it under a fake name and address raises questions and the general public should beware of Mr. Daniel Nworie Jonathan Nwibo!
The allegations of Daniel Nwibo against EBSU management are false and laughable because none is supported by evidence.
- The allegation of sale of admission slots into Law, Medicine, Nursing Science and Medical Laboratory Science to deny brilliant but poor Ebonyi chaps opportunities rests on no evidence.
This ‘accuser of the brethren’ could not substantiate his allegation with facts even when he could access the admission data or spreadsheet. Nwibo’s attempt to shift the duty of proof to the accused will not work because in Law, “He who alleges must prove”.
Ebonyians cannot forget in a hurry the radical commitment of Prof. Awoke to the development of Ebonyi citizens which made him to introduce the legendary EBSU Work and Study programme through which the career development of many Ebonyians have continued to thrive. This commitment of Prof. Awoke to the academic/career progress of Ebonyi people has not waned a bit. - Daniel Nworie Jonathan Nwibo stated that, “Students at the supposed citadel of learning barely have seats to offer general studies courses especially among first and second year students”; and that the DVC (Academics), “Actually approved Prof. Umahi’s online CBT testing plans and the collection of a N1,000.00 per student code fee.”
The reasonable man’s take on those cheap lies is that Prof. Awoke’s administration has presided over the admission of the current first-year students. It is too early to attack the new VC for the classroom-space challenge and other infrastructural deficits in the university.
Secondly, the administrative procedure is that bureaucratic or administrative approvals are requested and granted in documents which come either in hard or digital (e-mail, SMS, WhatsApp) copies.
Where is Prof. Umahi’s alleged approval? The absence of an approval makes Prof. Umahi guilty of extortion as charged. - Daniel Nworie Jonathan Nwibo stated that: “EBSU is now operation speak up and be removed, or suspended. And it is alleged that as Awoke removes, he consequently replaces with people from his Ezza clan-sometimes even unqualified”.
The greatest disproof of this falsehood is Prof. Awoke’s management of Daniel Nwibo’s erroneous appointment as provost of EBSU College of Health Sciences. When Daniel Nwibo was wrongly appointed, those who spoke up against Nwibo’s appointment were never reprimanded in any way. Rather, upon successful proving of Nwibo’s deficiencies, a replacement, Dr Edegbe, was appointed.
Dr Edegbe is Izzi not Ezza. It is on record that because of the commitment of EBSU management to the well-being of Ebonyians, Daniel Nwibo was not sanctioned for misleading the university. - Verifiable executive summary sheet of EBSU (deans, sub-deans, directors and HODs) shows that executive positions were evenly distributed among the 13 LGAs of Ebonyi State; while slots were also given to the four other South-East States; and even to the South-South States of Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Delta and Edo. Where is the alleged tribal slant of Prof. Awoke’s administration in EBSU?
- The insinuation of 2031 gubernatorial ambition on the EBSU VC is too pedestrian to be replied, except that Nwibo needed to be reminded that all one needs is to pray for life and good health as 2031 is far away.
Nwibo should withdraw his insult on the immediate past governor, Engr David Umahi, and tender a public apology to him as nobody can deny the works minister’s imperishable achievements for Ebonyi people.
Finally, I thank the general public and the EBSU academic community for ignoring the villainous piece and demand a public apology to Okpoto community from the author.
