At the centre of this shift is Daniel Osang, a Product and Growth professional who currently leads product strategy at Citizen Monitors, a civic technology platform designed to enable citizens to document and verify election results and incidents in real time. With four years of direct experience in digital product environments, Osang’s work sits at the intersection of product development, user behaviour, and data-driven decision-making, positioning him within a growing class of operators building practical tools for public accountability.

Under his leadership, Citizen Monitors has evolved from an early-stage concept into a live platform with over 23,000 subscribers, reflecting increasing demand for structured, citizen-led verification systems. The platform’s core features, including GPS-stamped uploads, live collation dashboards, and peer-review workflows, are designed to move beyond anecdotal reporting toward verifiable, evidence-backed participation.

Osang has also led pilot and beta testing efforts across multiple Nigerian states, using real user data to refine functionality and improve system reliability. During a nationwide digital mock election exercise, the platform recorded over 1,000 verified uploads with a 92 percent success rate, a metric he describes as a strong validation of both usability and operational readiness.

“The challenge is not just participation, but credibility,” Osang said, noting that many election-related disputes stem from weak evidence structures rather than lack of engagement. His approach focuses on building systems that make it easier for citizens to contribute while ensuring that what is collected can stand up to scrutiny.
