Olaoluwa Segun David champions mental health awareness
Counselling psychologist and psychotherapist, Olaoluwa Segun David, has reaffirmed his commitment to promoting mental health awareness and helping individuals, families, and communities overcome emotional challenges.
With a strong academic background that includes a Master’s degree in Children and Adolescents Counselling and certifications in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Early Childhood Education, Substance Use Counselling, and Psychoanalysis, David has focused his work on children, adolescents, and young adults facing issues such as trauma, identity exploration, stress, and learning difficulties.
Speaking about his approach, he said:
“My journey has shaped my approach to supporting children, adolescents, and young adults. Every individual’s journey is unique, and it is essential to create a safe, non-judgmental space where people can express themselves and heal.”
David, who has authored books on life purpose and parenting, also emphasizes the importance of raising what he describes as “healthy and healed children.”
“Parenting is more than providing for children; it is about modeling healthy behaviors, fostering open communication, and nurturing emotional intelligence. These are the foundations that build resilience in children,” he explained.
On the challenges facing the mental health sector, David noted:
“Stigma remains one of the biggest barriers. Communities, families, and institutions must promote awareness, encourage open conversations, and provide accessible services if we truly want to break the stigma around mental health.”
David is also set to feature on the Biz-Mansion reality TV show, where he plans to use the platform to merge mental health advocacy with entrepreneurship and personal development.
“Through Biz-Mansion, I want to inspire viewers to prioritize their well-being and show how mental health and entrepreneurship can go hand in hand,” he added.
