Samuel Seedu Named Most Enterprising Software Engineer of the Year At 2024 Nigeria Technology Awards

As nominations open for the 2025 edition of the Nigeria Technology Awards (NiTA), the spotlight briefly returns to one of last year’s standout winners: Samuel Seedu, who was honoured with the “Most Enterprising Software Engineer of the Year” award at the 2024 ceremony held on December 6, 2024, at the Admiralty Conference Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Seedu’s recognition celebrated more than just technical brilliance. It marked his growing influence in Nigeria’s tech ecosystem, particularly through his work with GPIT Nigeria, where he continues to lead high-impact software projects designed for scalability and real-world application.

“This award wasn’t just about code,” Seedu said after receiving the honour last December. “It’s about using technology to empower businesses, nurture talent, and build Africa-focused solutions with global relevance.”

Now in its 10th year, the NiTA Awards, organized by BetaMedia Group, continue to highlight individuals and companies pushing the boundaries of innovation. For Seedu, the award validated a mission that goes beyond engineering, it’s about ecosystem building.

Beyond Engineering
At GPIT, Seedu leads initiatives like GPIT Academy, which trains emerging tech talent, and BuildBox, a support program for early-stage startups across Nigeria. His work bridges product development, mentorship, and enterprise support creating a ripple effect within the local tech scene.

“We’re building more than software. We’re building a culture of innovation,” he added. “That award was fuel to keep going.”

2025 Awards Season Now Open
As the 2025 NiTA Awards approach, nominations are currently open from July 1 to August 31, inviting businesses and individuals to showcase their contributions to Nigeria’s technology sector.

Public voting will run from September 16 to 30, and the winners will be announced at this year’s Awards Dinner Ceremony on December 6, 2025, again in Lagos. The event remains strictly by invitation.

For Seedu, last year’s honour is a reminder of what’s possible when innovation meets purpose. As nominations roll in this year, his journey stands as a call to other builders: dream big, build boldly, and let your work speak.
