The film, produced by Native Filmworks and Michelangelo Productions, is scheduled for global premiere by Prime Video on July 11, 2025.
Set against the atmospheric backdrop of Abeokuta, The Lost Days tells the story of Chisom, a woman recently in remission from lymphoma, who returns home in search of reconciliation with the family she once left behind. Her homecoming unravels long-buried secrets and unresolved emotions, forcing a reckoning with grief, forgiveness, and the true meaning of love and family.
The film introduces theatre powerhouse Ifeoma Fafunwa in her screen acting debut. Fafunwa leads a talented ensemble cast that includes Bimbo Manuel, Baaj Adebule, Cynthia Clarke, and Durotimi Okutagidi. Together, they navigate a narrative rich with intergenerational tension and emotional complexity.
Abdul TJ and Paul S. Rowlston penned the screenplay, which is brought to life by a team of seasoned producers: Steve Gukas, Dotun Olakunri, Chioma Ezeani, and Bola Atta.
Speaking about the film, Ikpi described The Lost Days as “a timeless love story that chose me,” adding, “To be entrusted with emotions this raw is the kind of artistic awakening that defines a filmmaker’s journey.”
The Lost Days is part of the First Features Project, a collaborative initiative by Native Filmworks and Michelangelo Productions aimed at nurturing the next generation of Nigerian filmmakers.
