Ijaw National Alliance of the Americas Mourns Chief Edwin Clark

The Ijaw National Alliance of the Americas (INAA) has expressed profound condolences to the family of Chief (Dr.) Edwin Kiagbodo Clark and the Ijaw Nation following the passing of the revered elder statesman.
In a condolence message, signed by Dr. John Tebepah, the General Secretary, INAA described the Late Chief Clark as a trailblazer for the Niger Delta people and a source of inspiration whose legacy will continue to guide future generations.
Chief Clark, who passed away on February 17, 2025, at the age of 97, was a prominent Ijaw leader and former Federal Commissioner for Information.
Known for his unwavering commitment to justice and environmental advocacy, he played a pivotal role in championing the rights of the Niger Delta communities.
The group recalled that his leadership earned him recognition, including INAA’s prestigious “Service and Devotion Award” in 2004.
The INAA emphasized its solidarity with the Bekederemo family and pledged support during this difficult time.
Chief Clark’s contributions to Nigeria’s political landscape and his advocacy for resource control and environmental justice remain a lasting testament to his dedication to the Ijaw cause.

“The Ijaw National Alliance of the Americas (INAA) hereby express our deepest condolences to the Bekederemo Family of Kiagbodo and the entire Ijaw Nation for the passing of leader, Chief (Dr.) E. K. Clark. We are heartbroken by this profound loss and share in your grief during this incredibly difficult time.
“Chief E. K. Clark was a front runner for the people of the Niger Delta and inspired many through his leadership. He was a true source of knowledge and guidance. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide us as we mourn our loss.
