CMD: We Have Processes for Employment at FTH, Lokoja

Management of the Federal Teaching Hospital FTH, Lokoja, has disclosed that there are processes and layers to be strictly followed before the employment of new staff, saying it was impossible to single handedly employ anyone without approval.
The Chief Medical Director CMD, Federal Teaching Hospital, Dr. Olatunde Alabi, disclosed this while reacting to insinuations that the health institution lacks necessary personnel.
Alabi pointed out that though, the management recruited new staff in the. 2022, stressing that there are layers, Head of Service, Federal Ministry of Health and Federal Character Commission that must pass instructions to the management before employment into the hospital.
While reacting on the purported reinstatement of the suspended ARDFTH President, Jimoh Umar, the CMD explained that the management of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Lokoja has not received any letter to that effect against the backdrop of their claims
Olatunde stated the letter he received was from the National Association of Resident Doctors which notified the management of extended National officer’s committee meeting concerning ARD at Federal Teaching Hospital ,Lokoja.
“At the meeting, it was explicitly resolved that Dr. Umar Jimoh and his executive team step aside and from their role as the President and executive council. It was resolved that a caretaker committee be constituted”, the letter stated.
He described the claims as blackmail, stressing that those protesting sit down and face their works or face the consequences of their action as the management will not tolerate any act of indiscipline from any quarter.
