A coalition of civil society organisations has lauded the Executive Governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for his progressive policies aimed at improving the welfare of civil servants and retirees in the state.
In a statement signed by the National Secretary, Dr. Amb Lukman Mahmoud, the coalition highlighted key achievements of the Idris-led administration, including the implementation of a ₦75,000 minimum wage, prompt payment of pensions and gratuities, and an increase in the retirement age for teachers from 60 to 65 years with a 40-year service limit.
The group also praised the completion of an ultra-modern secretariat for civil servants, the provision of utility vehicles to ministries and boards, and the timely payment of salaries, which they described as a demonstration of the governor’s commitment to workers’ welfare.
“We commend Governor Nasir Idris for fulfilling his promise to civil servants. His administration’s dedication to improving their standard of living is evident through these policies,” the coalition stated.
Beyond civil service reforms, the governor was also recognised for his administration’s focus on peace and security, infrastructure development, economic empowerment, and support for youth and women.
The coalition urged civil servants in Kebbi State to reciprocate the governor’s goodwill by rededicating themselves to their duties and delivering quality services to the people.
They further called on the people of Kebbi State to continue supporting the administration’s efforts in fostering growth and development across the state.
