The Ogun State Election Petition Tribunal, yesterday, said that   objections to documents tendered as exhibits by counsel to the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Hon. Ladi Adebutu, be reserved till the final written addresses.

The Justice Hamidu Kunaza stated this as the tribunal admitted the documents, tendered from the bar by the PDP as exhibits.

Adebutu and the PDP had on Tuesday attempted to tender the documents in court to have them admitted but the respondents requested that they inspect the documents before being admitted.

The tribunal, therefore, gave both the petitioners and the respondents Tuesday and Wednesday to scrutinise all documents and re-present same on Thursday (yesterday).

At the resumed sitting, counsel to the petitioners, Mr. Goddy Uche, informed the tribunal that the respondents had inspected the documents as ordered.

Speaking, the Counsel to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mr. Remi Olatubora, confirmed that the documents were as released by the commission.

While stating that the documents had been inspected, Ms. Titilola Akinlawon, counsel to Abiodun, however, said that the second respondent, Governor Dapo Abiodun, would reserve his objection to the admissibility of the documents till the final addresses.

In the same vein, lawyer to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Onyechi Ikpeazu, also said that the party’s objections to some of the documents are reserved till the final addresses.

Ruling, the Hamidu Kunaza-led tribunal admitted all the exhibits from the bar.

He said that all documents are to be admitted from the bar and objections reserved till final addresses.
