The non-governmental organisation, Aitah’s Golden Arrow, whose idea is to awaken academic excellence through its quiz competition in Edo State has once again qualified 20 schools for both Arts and Science in the preliminary stage of its competition which took place in June at the Festus Iyayi ‘s hall University of Benin, Benin City.

The responses through the registration show that the brand is fast spreading its wings across Edo state, preaching the gospel of transparency and integrity and using its quiz competition as a tool to drive change.

The spokesperson for the organisation,  Itoro Lawrence, highlighted some of the roles of Aitah’s Golden Arrow quiz competition has played in promoting the personal growth of participants

“After numerous rounds of intense competition even from the first edition. Aitah’s Golden Arrow quiz competition is playing its role well in encouraging students to expand their knowledge base and explore a wide range of subjects with research and learning beyond the classroom.

Competition of this nature will ask students to think critically and solve problems within a time frame as our questions are based on real-life and practical life scenarios.

We have watched participants over the past few months build self-confidence as they showcase their knowledge and skills and this is not limited to their speaking abilities.

Part of our plan as an organization is to ensure that competitions are held in teams. It is not an individual competition. We want every student to be involved. The reason we have 2 students representing a school in the arts and science category. That way they can share ideas, deliberate and collaborate to answer questions and collectively perform better.

Aside from awarding financial aid to meet student’s educational needs, the platform opens doors to scholarships, sponsorships, and other opportunities for students.”

Itoro added .”We believe transparency and integrity should not be difficult to achieve in Nigeria no matter what you are involved in. Hence, the reason we thrive is to ensure our system, processes and conducts portray what we preach at all times and this can be shown in the way we conduct our competitions in the last 12 months.

Aitah’s Golden Arrow is welcoming 20 schools to its grand finale in July. These schools came tops with the highest scores among 49 schools in the preliminary stage.

The winners will be going home with 2 million naira, 1.5 million naira and 1 million naira respectively. This is our way of encouraging students to become lifelong learners, develop valuable skills, and instil a love for knowledge and intellectual pursuits.
