Fayemi: Govs Will Work with PIA Implementation Committee

• Says implementation committee chair assured NGF concerns raised will be addressed through amendment 
• Insists on adherence to constitution

Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF), Dr. Kayode Fayemi, said Thursday that the  forum would work with the committee set up by the federal government to oversee the implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) headed by Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Mr. Timipre Sylva.

President Muhammadu Buhari signed the Petroleum Industry Bill passed by the National Assembly into law on Monday.

Speaking in an interview with Arise TV, the broadcast qq of THISDAY, Fayemi, who is also the Governor of Ekiti State, said while the governors were prepared to work with the committee, concerns regarding adherence to the constitution raised by the governors must be looked into.

He said Sylva had reached out to the forum to say that concerns raised by the forum would be addressed by way of amendment.
