Alex ’Tone’ Guerrero To Perform At “HAITIAN GRIOT FEST” 2021

Alexandro ‘Tone’ Guerrero has revealed that he will be performing at this year’s ‘Groit Fest’ alongside several artistes. He made this revelation in a telephone call with our reporter. Alexandro ‘Tone’ Guerrero aka “Hightone” is a Multi-Instrumentalist, SongWriter, Producer & Music director.

HAITIAN GRIOT FEST; a food festival celebrating the Haitian peoples and cultural heritage through Food & Music. Due to the global coronavirus pandemic the festival was put on hold in 2020 but is scheduled to make a comeback later this year.

The annual event whose aim is to promote the Haitian people, foods and cuisine on a grand stage was postponed indefinitely in 2020 due to covid 19. The festival is usually a 2day event that showcases and spotlights the best Haitian food stalls, restaurants and chefs in and around Florida.

One of the main sponsors of the “GRIOT FEST”, Skinner Louis in an Instagram post announcing the the list of performing acts and the return of the festival, said plans are being put in place for the event to come back bigger and better than ever this 2021. The festival and showcase event is also used as a medium to promote Haitian/black-owned businesses, showcases some upcoming artistes and talent as well as introduce to other communities the diversity and richness of the Haitian culture.

The festival consists of two main parts: the entertainment and the food/chef showcases. The entertainment showcase presents performances by both upcoming, supporting and headline musical and comedic artists made up of both Haitian & Non Haitian acts. Former President of Haiti, Michel Martelly, was one of the performers in 2018. The food showcase program focuses on different Haitian restaurants, food stalls and chefs, who are also on hand to provide different foods and cuisines to feed the crowd.

Alex expressed his delight at being listed as one of the supporting performers this year and said He hopes the ‘GRIOT FEST’ will continue to expand and grow to hopefully become a national event some day. He promised to give a worthy performance on the day.
