Mactay Consulting Named as Official SAP Education Partner for W’Africa
After a burgeoning professional relationship that spans over a decade, Mactay Consulting has been named the SAP Education Partner in West Africa. This development forms part of the strategic move by Mactay Consulting to help businesses and individuals improve and deliver greater values in real-time and on-time while also supporting their cost-cutting agenda.
Themed ‘Every learning curve is a learning curve’, the SAP/Mactay partnership, aptly described as a vision brought to life, will have Mactay Consulting providing existing and prospective SAP users within the West African region with the requisite training that will enhance both individual and business efficiency and performance. Significantly, the partnership seeks to localise SAP education content available globally while also building local capacity here in Nigeria, making it the hub for training in the West African region.
Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, represented by the Commissioner of Wealth Creation, Hon. Babatunde Durosimi Etti, said this is a partnership that has the potential to upturn the socio-economic development of the citizenry across the country, while also delivering greater values to businesses in terms of cost-saving and improved turn-around time in their service delivery.
He therefore urged the private sector to come up such partnerships that can improve lives through skill acquisitions, human development and wealth creation.
In her remarks at the event, Managing Director, Mactay Consulting, Mrs. Elizabeth Rotimi, expressed satisfaction at the birth of a development that will provide cost-saving technical training that will enhance more business growth while also unlocking new business opportunities at a time the government is driving the local content agenda.
â€We have been working towards bringing SAP closer to us. This partnership is not only beneficial to professionals but to the Nigerian economy. As this increases the value of our currency; prospective and existing SAP users do not need to travel out of Nigeria spending a lot of money to get trained. We are now available to provide more with fewer expenses,†said Rotimi.
She further explained that businesses interested in SAP training don’t have to go the whole hug of hiring experts from abroad, as all the required professional training will be locally provided at very affordable costs, which help businesses in their cost-saving agenda.
At the event, different facilitators reiterated the importance and the huge benefit of workplace productivity using innovative tools and programmes. Tracy Bolton, who represented the Managing Director of SAP West Africa extensively dwelled on digital transformation. “SAP is a long time trusted leader in transforming businesses. This involves transformation on the education side and around the world,†Bolton said, adding that “for an organisation to remain relevant, it must embrace technological innovations.â€
SAP Trainer and Educator for East & West Africa, Mesula Keke highlighted the importance of employee training in an organisation. “You can’t be a leader if you don’t train people. That’s why SAP is here. Training is important to reduce workplace risk,†Keke said. The extensive lecture on the theme ‘Every Learning Curve is an Earning Curve’, was facilitated by Dr. IB Ofem, Representative of the Vice Chancellor, Lagos State University.
