NIMENA Invites Research Papers for Two Maritime Journals
The Nigerian Institute of Marine Engineers and Naval Architects (NIMENA) has invited researchers, academics and maritime industry professionals to submit papers for publication in two of its academic journals.
The journals are the Journal of Blue Economy and Sustainable Energy Development (JBESED) and the African Journal of Offshore, Marine Engineering and Naval Architecture (AJOMENA).
According to information published by the institute, the call is intended to encourage research and knowledge sharing in areas relevant to Nigeria’s maritime industry, blue economy and sustainable energy development.
JBESED covers areas including blue economy governance, ocean policy, marine spatial planning, coastal zone management, offshore renewable energy, sustainable fisheries and aquaculture, marine environmental protection and climate adaptation.
AJOMENA focuses on offshore, marine engineering and naval architecture, with areas of interest including ship design, hydrodynamics, stability, offshore structures, subsea engineering, floating production storage and offloading units, marine propulsion, green technologies, maritime safety and smart shipping.
NIMENA said the journals operate as peer-reviewed, open-access publications and are intended to provide platforms for researchers and industry practitioners to disseminate research findings and technical knowledge.
The call for papers is part of the institute’s broader activities in promoting research, professional development and innovation within the maritime and related sectors.
The institute has also been involved in initiatives aimed at encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship within the maritime and energy industries, including the Plug and Play x NIMENA GOAL Accelerator programme.
NIMENA said researchers interested in submitting papers to JBESED can obtain submission information through its journal platform, while information on submissions to AJOMENA is also available on the platform.
The institute further stated that manuscripts would be assessed based on criteria including scientific validity, technical soundness, originality, research impact and research integrity.
NIMENA also provided information on publication charges and sponsorship arrangements for selected submissions in its call for papers.
Researchers and professionals interested in the journals are advised to consult the institute’s official journal platform for the latest submission guidelines, eligibility requirements, publication charges and applicable deadlines.
