Abuja Interior and Furniture Expo has launched its first-ever virtual Interior and Furniture Expo, a pioneering initiative aimed at showcasing innovations in the industry while advancing Nigeria’s digital economy.
The event, which commenced on Friday, is organized by the Abuja Interior and Furniture Expo in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment, as well as the Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology.
Declaring the event open, Project Coordinator Faisal Jafar Rafindadi described the maiden edition as a “significant milestone” in leveraging technology to drive interior design and furniture manufacturing.
“This virtual expo provides a unique platform for industry professionals, manufacturers, and enthusiasts to connect, network, and explore new possibilities,” Rafindadi said.
He further highlighted the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope agenda, which prioritizes digital technology as a driver of economic growth.
The two-day event offers participants opportunities to engage with industry experts, witness product demonstrations, and explore cutting-edge solutions shaping the sector. Rafindadi credited the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment for its pivotal role in making the event a reality.
In his welcome remarks, the Director of Mobilization, Dr. Kabir Mustapha, underscored the importance of digital platforms in expanding Nigeria’s economic opportunities.
“As the first of its kind in Nigeria, this expo demonstrates our commitment to using technology to drive growth and development.
“Attendees will be able to explore virtual exhibition booths, attend keynote sessions, participate in interactive workshops, and connect with fellow professionals and potential clients.”
Dr. Mustapha also acknowledged key partners such as the Nigerian Association of Engineering Craftsmen under the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), whose support has been instrumental to the event’s success.
He further announced plans to transition the expo into a physical format in the last quarter of the year, building on the momentum of the virtual edition.
“This innovative approach will enable us to reach a wider audience, foster global connections, and provide a unique experience for all participants,” he added.
