Arc. Debola Majekodunmi, a Chartered Architect with over thirty years of experience in architectural, facility management and interior design, is set to launch a special home makeover reality TV Show called the Retoucher.
The show is designed to bring together upcoming interior designers who will compete to redesign the homes of average Nigerian families. And a winner will emerge through the collective judgement of the judges who are carefully selected from the architectural, facility management and interior design industries. The focus of the show is to give back to society.
Debola Majekodunmi was the former PRO of Female Architect of Nigeria (F.A.N) and Social Secretary of Nigeria Institute of Architects (N.I.A). She is an alumnus of Lagos Business School, Enterprise Development Centre, University College, London, and University of Lagos (Unilag). She is also the founder of Flair Finishes, an architectural / facility management firm in Lagos.
In the late nineties, in Eko Hotel and Suites, Debola used to organize the Unique Interiors exhibition, a major exhibition that brought together stakeholders in the built industry. It was a yearly event that lasted for thirteen years. She would later relocate to London for personal development for five years before returning to Nigeria to consult for GreenKey FM, a top facility management company in Lagos, Nigeria.
In 2022, she partnered with Joy Ofili-Yebovi, the founder of Simplinteriors Design Company to organise the Women in Business (WiB) conference, which was held in Civic Center, Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island.
The event brought together young interior designers under the tutelage of established interior designers. That gave birth to a mentorship platform for the young interior designers. This led Majekodunmi to revisit her long term vision of giving back to the society through her unique and special home makeover reality TV Show, The Retoucher.
The Retoucher Reality TV Show is one of its kind in Nigeria, and it seeks to partner with organisations and individuals who want to be part of something unique and want to give back to the society as well as create adequate awareness for their brands.
The Retoucher Reality TV Show will be aired on both digital and terrestrial TV stations (DSTV and Silverbird Television respectively).
