African Women Gather for Conference in Kenya

Women leaders from across the world, Nigeria inclusive, will gather in Nairobi, Kenya, April 17 to 20, for the 2024 International Women’s Day conference.

The organisers, London-based Custodian Global Consult, and the Centre for Black Arts and Civilisation, CBAC, said the event holding at Weston Hotel in Nairobi, “will be the biggest gathering of international women leaders.”

The event’s coordinator, Duchess Bolaji Odunuga, Principal Partner at Custodian Global Consult and Chief Editor of Duchess International Magazine, said: “The conference is a transformative event celebrating women’s achievements and addressing barriers to their progress.

“We are thrilled to host this important event, which aims to inspire, educate, and empower women from all walks of life. At a time when women’s rights and achievements are more important than ever, we are proud to provide a platform for women to share their stories, ideas, and experiences.

“We invite women leaders, entrepreneurs, and change-makers from around the world to join us in Nairobi for this historic event. Together, we can inspire inclusion, support women and girls in leadership roles, and create a more equal and just society for all.”

The theme of this year’s conference is: “#InspireInclusion: Supporting Women and Girls in Leadership, STEM, Business, and Talent Development.”

It will feature a series of engaging workshops, panel discussions, and networking sessions designed to empower women and girls in these key areas.

The conference will kick off on April 17 with a Registration and Meet and Greet session on April 17, followed by a full day of workshops on April 18.
Participants will have the opportunity to explore the sights and sounds of Nairobi on April 19 before the conference concludes with a full day of sessions on April 20, culminating in a gala dinner and awards ceremony.

Billed to speak at the conference are, the SSA to President Bola Tinubu on Humanitarian and Poverty Alleviation, Hon Delu Yakubu; Kenyan cabinet Minister, Hon. Peninah Malonza; President of Women in Shipping and Trading Association, Mrs Eunice Ezeoke; the CEO of East African Tourism Platform, Mr. Frank Gisha Mugisha and a General Practitioner in the NHS, UK, Dr. Vicky Minkah-Adom.

Also included in the line-up of speakers are the Deputy Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Mrs Lami Danladi and the Independent National Sales Director of Mary Kay Cosmetics UK/Ireland, Mrs Elizabeth Ozua.
