Rise, a programme that finds promising young people and provides them with opportunities, has called for applications for its 2023 cohort competition, with submissions due on January 17, 2024.
According to the global organisation, applicants for the 2024 cohort must be between the ages of 15 and 17 as of July 1, 2024, meaning they are born on or between July 2, 2006 and July 1, 2009.
Speaking at the sensitisation programme organised for Lagos schools recently, the communication manager of Ingressive for Good, Fawzyyah Danmole, said the competition allows recipients to work together to serve others over their lifetimes.
As a partner to Rise, she said her organisation supports interested applicants to navigate the application process.
“We are here to help those ready to apply, and we on our own backend do a followup on their application process,” she said.
However, according to Rise, application submission is due January 17, 2024, while peer review will take place January 31, 2024.
Rise global winners hail from around the world and demonstrate clear potential in a range of disciplines. Some may excel in STEM fields, others may show outstanding artistic ability, and others may have a gift for community service and organizing.
If selected, finalists participate in educational and social impact courses offered through Rise to improve their skills and grow their networks.
These benefits may include a fully funded residential summit, need-based higher education scholarships, funding for ideas on a competitive basis, access to a network of other Rise global winners, starter technology packages, mentorship and career services.
