Radda Donates N3.5m to 35 Rescued Kidnap Victims

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has donated N3.5 million to 35 rescued kidnap victims who were abducted by bandits in Tashar Nagulle and Nahuta villages of Batsari Local Government Area of the state.

He announced the donation when he received them from the Commander, 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General O.A Fadairo, at the Government House on Monday.

The governor explained that each of the 35 rescue abductees would receive the sum of N100,000, amounting to N3,500,000, for them to revive their normal business when they arrive at their ancestral homes.

While commending the efforts of the Nigerian Army and other security agencies in rescuing the victims unhurt, the governor reiterated that his administration will deal with persons ‘romancing’ with terrorists in the state.

He said: “Success is being recorded in the fight against banditry. Many terrorists in Katsina have been killed, with their camps dislodged and a lot of weapons recovered through the joint efforts of security operatives in the state.”

He added that the state government has introduced free medicare to victims of bandit attacks, and allowance to security agencies, as well as educational support to those who lost their parents during violent attacks by terrorists.

Radda thanked the Almighty Allah for rescuing the victims without any casualty from the security operatives or the hitherto abducted civilians.
