Group Hails Tinubu for Affirming Confidence in Chief of Staff

A socio-political group known as the South East/South South Heritage Foundation has saluted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for  affirming  confidence in his Chief of Staff(CoS), Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.

There were accusations by some individuals that the Gbajabiamila  was  making financial gains off the president’s appointments.

However, the president, during the Federal Executive Council Meeting (FEC), said:, “About what is happening, I have told everyone in this country I can make mistakes, and I am bound to hear them out and correct them. Perfection is that of God Almighty. I have absolute confidence in the integrity of my CoS. All campaigns of calumny and insinuation should stop. The bucks stop here.”

Speaking on the development, President of the South East/South South Heritage Foundation, Chief Kenneth Uzoigwe, said it is a welcome development that President Tinubu has risen to the occasion and defended the integrity of his CoS.

We salute Mr. President for putting a stop to and discouraging unnecessary and unwarranted insinuations.

Uzoigwe, who was equally a Special Assistant to former Speaker Gbajabiamila on Political Matters (South East), went on to issue a note of warning to mischief makers and propagandists to put a stop to actions capable of distracting Rt. Honorable Gbajabiamila from doing his work. He also vouched for the integrity of the CoS as a trust-worthy leader and a man who has the interest of the country at heart.

“Honorable Femi Gbajabiamila has been in the system. He was the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and all of Nigeria can attest to his performance during his tenure as the speaker. Rt. Honorable Gbajabiamila is one man who has proven to be a leader whose conduct is not about money but doing what is right and being focused on any assignment given to him. So, we hereby demand that propagandists and mischief makers should let this man do his job,” Uzoigwe said.

“Honrable Gbajabiamila worked hard to ensure the realization of this government, and there is no way he would do anything to bring it down. We are so confident that Gbajabiamila cannot go around seeking financial gains from appointments. Such an allegation is totally baseless,” he added.

Speaking further he said: “We know these allegations are coming from people who want to remove him and replace him. They are people who are envious of him. They are people who want to destroy the government. That’s why we are saying enough is enough. Let them allow him to focus on his job and help Mr. President put Nigeria in good shape.”

In the same vein, Uzoigwe appealed to the National Assembly to do something about fake news, which is fast becoming a menace in society. He feared the trend might get out of hand if left unchecked.

He said: “It is on this note that I want to appeal to the national assembly to make a law that will prohibit fake and unverifiable stories from being peddled, especially on social media. We all can attest to the danger that fake news is capable of, so we should do everything possible to nip such irresponsible practices in the bud. We can’t fold our arms and let the hard-earned reputations of people be maligned just like that.”

“Rt. Honorable Femi Gbajabiaamila has a record of being upright, sincere, and dutiful. Even during his time as the Speaker, we all know about his contribution to the government of President Buhari, when he had to step in and mediate between the government and ASUU, Labour, and the rest to ensure all went smoothly. How can anyone then suddenly wake up and accuse such a personality of taking money for an appointments?”.
