Succor For Reuben Azazi as NGO Donates N1M for His Cancer Treatment

The joy of the Azazi family knew no bounds at the weekend as succor finally came their way in the form of N1 million donation from the founder of Gifting Volunteer Network, David Tamarau-Kuro, for the treatment of their son’s cancer ailment.

Fifteen years old Reuben Azazi was diagnosed with cancer of the jaw and have been in serious pain for years until he was taken to the hospital but the family could not afford the cost of treatment put at N1.8 million.

Presenting the cheque of N1 million for treatment for Reuben Azazi in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, the founder of Gifting Volunteers Network, David Tamarau-Kuro, said he was touched when he learnt of the boy’s plight.

He said the organisation offers a complete range of free healthcare services including medical and surgical treatments, medical camps, and telehealth facilities to the underprivileged people of Nigeria.

He said, “I’m the founder of gifting potential network an organisation that is centered on providing financial assistance to people who can’t afford their medical bills through public patronage. 

“Today is the 28th of July, 2023. I’m in Yenagoa to be precise. We are here to present a sum of a million naira to Reuben Azazi who has cancer of the jaw for his medical treatment to be completed.

“Well actually, his case was reported to us sometime two months ago and we have been trying our best to crowd fund for him we’ve been able to raise this sum of amount of money for him. So we are presenting this money to him here in the presence of the family and the media.

“We believe that presenting this money to him would be for the good and for the well being of Reuben who has this ailment and this is what we have been doing for people.”

David, said he was inspired to give to the poor and needy after an ear death experience had as an undergraduate at the Federal University of Science and Technonoly, Akure.

“So, I said let me give back to society that was why I came up with gifting volunteers network to help people in such health conditions who cannot afford their medical bills through public patronage and we have rendered so many assistance to people, sent people to abroad for medical treatment and so many others, that’s why we are doing what we are doing today.

He called on well meaning Nigerians and organizations to help the network to reach out to many others with similar situation across t country.

He said, “Yes it’s very difficult for us doing this and raising campaign banners for people in Nigeria, it is not easy. At times, some people doubt the credibility of what you do and if not for the paper prints media, we wouldn’t be where we are today.

“We pay some influencers for this assignments that we are delivering for Nigerians at large so but in all of these we just want to ensure that we present what has been given to people in real terms not in isolation that why you can see that we have been able to present the sum of a million naira to Reuben Azazi who has cancer of the jaw.”

Receiving the Cheque on behalf of the family, Engr. Ashanti Afenfia, thank the almighty God and the organization for the good gesture, saying the family will proceed immediately to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), where the treatment will commence.

She said, ,First of all, I want to give glory to God almighty. He’s a wonderful God and my thanks goes to Gifting volunteer network. I never expected that they would come to offer this wonderful money to us for the treatment of Reuben Azazi..

“I never knew that it would come to that. All these while, we have been battling with Reuben hoping that help will come and sometimes thought this would not come to reality; but I am seeing it physically today that they are offering Reuben Azazi one million naira to further his treatment. I’m so delighted, am so happy, in fact my joy will never end here; I will continue to call them, to encourage them to do more for others.”

She called on well-meaning Bayelsans and Nigerians to always extend their helping hands to the underprivileged as been exemplified by Gifting volunteer network.
