Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, yesterday, clarified that he was not pursuing any vendetta or hidden agenda but, working towards the progress of the state.

Yusuf’s reaction was not unconnected to the outrage that greeted his administration policy reversal, demolishion of structures, and mass sacking of civil servants employed by the immediate past administration.

The governor, who received Emir of Gaya, Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir, who paid him Sallah homage, said his administration would promote and support health care, education, and agriculture, among others.

He assured him that the state government would continue to focus on the welfare of the citizens, stressing that the desire of his administration was to support people-oriented policies that would uplift the state to a greater height.

He challenged critics to keep records of his work and judge him after he has completed his tenure and wondered why anyone in power should hijack public property and convert it for personal use.

In addition, Yusuf tasked cabinet members to liase, with the council Chairmen in the different local government areas in identifying critical issues, reiterating that his government was not on a vendetta mission but focusing on the progress and economic development of Kano State.

On his free maternity policy, he has directed the state health Commissioner, Dr Abubakar Labaran, to work round the clock, so as to ensure a hitch-free restoration of all health centres in the state.

Emir of Gaya, in his response, disclosed said his Emirate has constituted a strong commitee on vigilance to further strengthen security and peaceful co-existence in the state.
