The Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, yesterday swore in Muhammad Aliyu Ubandoma, who he renewed his appointment recently, as the Secretary to the State Governor (SSG).

The governor also swore in seven newly appointed permanent secretaries and two members of the Nasarawa State Judiciary Service Commission (JSC).

Speaking at the event held at the Aliyu Akwe Doma Banquet Hall in the Government House, Lafia, the governor tasked the newly sworn-in appointees to work in line with his administration’s policy of reforming the civil service.

He equally tasked them to be innovative and to demonstrate proven integrity to reinvigorate the service for higher productivity.

Sule used the occasion to commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s subsidy removal policy, arguing that the removal of the subsidy was necessary.

He, therefore, declared that buses would be provided with reduced fare and review upward of the number of beneficiaries and amount of the state conditional cash transfer, among other palliative measures to cushion the negative impact of the subsidy removal policy.
