Aside from a catalogue that racks up millions of streams and views, Olamide is well known to have given springboard to several fellow music stars in the Nigeria music industry to shine. Such gesture has seen him at work with promising acts like Bella Shmurda, Jayboi, Cheque and of late Zanku record label artiste, Jamopyper. The latter dropped his latest single, “O Nana” last Saturday. The new song features Olamide who contributed greatly to the instrumental.

Interestingly, the YBNL boss was recently featured on a song “Entertainer” with Jamopyper few days ago. ‘O Nana’ follows Jamopyper’s first 2021 single titled ‘Better Better’ (Remix), which has Davido spice up the track. ‘O Nana’ comes with a danceable beat and would also remind you of the early days of Olamide in the music industry. Olamide in ‘O Nana’ gave some street rap lines that many of his early fans would love to hear from him again. Produced by Eskeez, the song is perfect blend of Afrobeat, Pop-Dancehall, Amapiano and Rap.

This is the first song Jamopyper will be releasing in a while now. Some of his previous songs are; Necessary, Of Lala, Unripe Pawpaw, If No Be You, among others. For many who don’t know, Jamiu Damilare Tajudeen stage name Jamopyper, is a singer, songwriter and dancer signed to Zanku Records owned by Zlatan ibile. In 2020 he was nominated as Rookie of Year at The Headies Awards. After being signed to Zanku Records, Jamopyper debuted on Zlatan’s hit song “Unripe Pawpaw” with other artistes and his melody was noticed by listeners.

To push his talent and vibe further, he featured on another 2020 street hit song – ‘Of Lala’ released for Rahman Jago alongside Zlatan and boom he was all over the place. Of Lala video topped charts for weeks, crossing over a million views on YouTube within weeks of release. Also with his contribution on the buzzing Zlatan joint ‘Shomo’. Jamopyper continues to impress before he finally served his hit debut on Zanku Record ‘If No Be You’, featuring DMW star, Mayorkun.

Having featured in songs with Olamide, Zlatan, among others, the Oyo State-born singer is rated as one of the most promising acts and he seems to be justifying that, registering his name on the minds of Nigerians by virtue of his unique style to music. Olamide, an influencer of the culture, has a career that speaks for itself. He touched down at Empire Music Company in San Francisco recently to take what he has done to new global heights.

There at the Empire’s headquarters with his team, including Fireboy DML, he spoke with CNN African Voices Change Makers. In February of 2020, Olamide agreed to a partnership between his record label YBNL Nation and San Francisco based music company, Empire. The joint venture gives Olamide and any other artiste he signs a global platform and access to Empire resources and expertise.
