Nwadiri Makes Case for Women Entrepreneurs in Nigeria

A Lagos-based businesswoman, Diri Onyeani has called on more women to set up businesses, as the sky is only their beginning.

Onyeani made this call in Lagos in a chat with newsmen in Lagos said the business terrain in Nigeria is suitable for women to venture in as it is for men who currently dominate it.

The Entrepreneur who is the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of DIRI STORES, which comprises of a popular Jewelry store called ACCESSORIES 4 U, a male, female & children Jewelry and Accessory store.

According to her, Accessories 4 U jewelry brand has been part of the male/female & children everyday life style, Beauty pageantry, jewelry dress-ups events in Nigeria for many years now, including other confidence building product offerings.

Hair Heaven as a brand provides Human Hair sales/solutions for ladies over the years without breaking the bank.

Diri as she is often popularly called, is presently contributing to SMEs across Nigeria in partnership with factories abroad by providing them with Jewelries and human Hair Products at Wholesale supplies to enable them start a business and earn lucratively.

“It is a known fact that hair production companies from all over the world have recognized Africa as a thriving market for their businesses with large chunk of the buyers and users from Nigeria due to her huge population and fashion sense. This is why Entrepreneurs are being sought after for partnership by hair production companies in recognition of their huge markets availability, “she said.

Speaking about her foray into business, the CEO said she started the Jewelry Store Accessories 4 U in 2010 fresh out of school, while the Balloons & Gifts Store and Hair Heaven World in 2017 and 2018 respectively.

Diri noted that her passion to help people feel good about themselves, project their inner happiness and foster the confidence needed to achieve their potentials without breaking the bank, was what propelled her into setting up the business.

“This is Nigeria, the business environment is very challenging with unstable economy, exchange rates as well as high cost of rents and living. To make it, we have to devise strategies to surmount these challenges, “she said.

Speaking further about future plans, Diri noted that “the future is bright for our kind of business anyway because we have invested a lot in rebranding and expansion and it can only get better, insisting that, “We are working with our partners and investors and we seek more investors and partners to be bigger and stronger.”

Explaining further about the partnership with other companies she opined that, “With the partnership from factories abroad, we are able to sell jewelries and Human Hairs in wholesale and retails quantities at very affordable prices. However, our plan is to be able to produce more even locally. Do not hesitate to reach out as we provide the needed confidence to look good in your business or occasion.
