• Mane scores his 100th goal as Liverpool cruise to 3-0 victory at C’Palace

Super Eagles forward, Emmanuel Dennis, ended his straight four games goals drought yesterday as he netted Watford’s curtain raiser in the 3-1 defeat of Norwich in the English Premier League.

The victory was also Watford’s first after winless in their last four fixtures.

Dennis drew the first blood in the 17th minute after nodding in an in-swinging ball.

He has now scored two goals in five Premier League appearances.

It is now two wins in five league games (three defeats) for the newly promoted club.

Also in action for Watford were Super Eagles duo of William Troost-Ekong and Oghenekaro Etebo with the latter coming on in the 82nd minute.

Elsewhere, Liverpool remain unbeaten in the Premier League this season after Sadio Mane scored his 100th goal for the club in a 3-0 victory against Crystal Palace.

Now on 13 points, the Reds are now on the summit of the Premier League, two points ahead of second place Everton.

Jurgen Klopp’s side created numerous chances against a resilient Palace before Mane pounced on a rebound at the back post in the first half.

Mohamed Salah doubled their lead with just over 10 minutes remaining when he smashed home a flick-on from a corner, before Naby Keita’s late curling strike made it 3-0.

Liverpool were wasteful in the first half as Diogo Jota fired over the bar from a few yards out in a glorious position.

At Turf Moor, Arsenal made it back-to-back wins after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Burnley.

Martin Odegaard’s superb free-kick in the 30th minute to secure the important win.

Champions Manchester City could not find a way through a resolute Southampton side and ended up fortunate to get a goalless draw despite the noisy backing of the home fans at Etihad Stadium.

City, who did not manage a single shot on target until the 90th minute, were sloppy in possession as well as lacking their usual spark in attack and Saints will feel they should have left Manchester with all three points, not just one.

The visitors were awarded a penalty on the hour mark when Kyle Walker was sent off for bundling Adam Armstrong over in the box, but both decisions were overturned when VAR intervened and referee Jon Moss watched replays of the incident.
