King David The Great Set To Release New EP

Declares Presidential Ambitions

Nigerian-born versatile songwriter, producer and singer, King David The Great, has hinted that he is not averse to becoming a politician and as matter of fact, will be trying his luck at becoming Nigeria’s president in future. The artiste, real name David Agboola, dropped the hint while disclosing his plan to relocate to Nigeria.

Making a point-blank declaration, “I will go for the presidency,” King David avowed that he has a good sense of what he would do for Nigeria. “What will be done are many, among them, are free health care, security, constant light, clean roads and jobs. These will be the major focus for me, ” he said, pointing out that he would work to ensure that the Naira is one of the strongest currencies in the world.

The CEO, RTMG (Royalty Timeless Music Group), further stated: “I am very passionate about the development of our people and the country, but for now, we must let those who are there now do their jobs and when it’s our turn go and vote and let’s fix Nigeria together. So for now, music is my focus.”

Talking about music, he also hinted about his new EP coming before the end of the year. “New EP title will be called Elisium. It will have 6 to 7 songs. The EP will be very versatile with a lot of different sounds from the cradle of civilisation. It will be the genesis of things to be brought to light; it’s the voice; the tone, the message. Every song has a purpose and every sound and instrument has a purpose, and it’s purpose will be revealed once it’s released. The 7 songs I picked are my favourite, that’s why I pick them. 7 is a number of perfection, most of the songs picked and the songs. I’m perfectly happy to perform them on stage because that’s when the music really comes alive to the people as seeing is believing.”

Having successfully worked with a long list of local and international artistes in the UK and US, it came as a surprise from him when he said being an artiste in the diaspora is meant for the strong-minded. Said he: “It has its ups and downs, especially when you are an independent artiste, who is not on a major label. It costs a lot of money to do music. What goes on behind music puts a lot of people off. If you are not mentally strong enough, it could be very hard over here.”
