Tems’ Sophomore EP is Ready

When her fans are not mischievously teasing her for miserly showing off her admirable derriere in her posts, they acknowledge her beautiful voice and her songs. Now, it has gone from teasing to praising, following a picture of the starlet, Tems and Canadian rapper, Drake dining together after Drake featured the Nigerian singer-songwriter on his new album ‘Certified Lover Boy’.

While Nigerians gushed about the viral video on social media with many trying to pinpoint what the two were up to, it thus appears Tems has got something up her sleeve. Now, the cat is out of the bag. The alternative R&B singer shared a new single titled “Crazy Tings” on Friday September 10. The track is off her forthcoming EP If Orange Was a Place, which is out September 15.

This comes after her Twitter post that thrill music fans on Monday September 6. Thanking her new and old fans for their support, she wrote: “My beautiful gang, thank you for the massive love you’ve shown me. It’s too plenty. Honestly, believe me when I say I love y’all baaaaaddd. New EP out next week!!! It’s time…” Her recent appearance on Drake’s ‘Certified Lover Boy’ track “Fountains,” has thrown fans of the pair into frenzy.

Last year, she joined Wizkid on the ‘Made in Lagos’ song “Essence.” The latter track received a new music video earlier this year, plus a new version featuring Justin Bieber. Featuring on Drake’s 21-track album appears to be the high of Tems’ career as A-list artistes featured in it including Jay-Z, Travis Scott, Young Thug, Future, 21 Savage, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross among others.

Soon after the release of the album, the rising young star took to her Twitter handle with a post appreciating Drake. “CLB Babyyy! Honestly I could talk about many things still to come. But what’s better than surprise? All Glory be to the Most High God, she tweeted. “Large Fonts you know hahaha, so grateful and honoured. So Crazyyy!! Thank you Drake.” Tems has secured her spot as one to watch in 2022 and beyond with tracks like ‘Looku Looku’, ‘Mr Rebel’, and the smashing hit ‘Try Me’.

In 2019, Tems launched with singles, ‘Looku Looku’ and ‘Mr. Rebel.’ She followed it up with ‘Try Me’ and then released two more singles before her debut EP, ‘For Broken Ears’, in September 2020. At the start of 2018, a message from her daily devotional drove Tems, born Temilade Openiyi, to quit her day job as a digital marketer to pursue a career in music full-time. Two years later, the artiste has unlocked society’s cage and set herself on fire to light the way for a new vanguard. She’s ready to ascend to her destined position as the leader of the rebel gang.
