Ekiti State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), Dr. Kayode Fayemi and the Chairman, Southern Senators Forum, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, have congratulated the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) on his 65th birthday.
Fayemi in a congratulatory message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, described Akeredolu as a courageous, reliable, and compassionate leader.
The Governor stated that Akeredolu had spent a larger part of his life serving the people as a students’union activist, legal luminary, advocate of good governance and currently as governor, who was leaving no stone unturned in the quest for the betterment of Ondo State and its people.
He described Akeredolu as a dogged fighter, a strong voice in the fight against injustice and a man who never shied away from speaking the truth regardless of whose ox is gored.
He prayed God to give the governor long life and good health in order to continue serving the people more.
“Governor Akeredolu has spent his entire life in the service of his people. He is a patriotic Nigerian,who is very passionate about one united, peaceful and progressive Nigeria. A compassionate leader, who is ever concerned about the welfare of his people. We wish him many more useful and productive years in service to God and humanity.
“I, on behalf of my wife, Bisi, the government and good people of Ekiti State, celebrate Governor Akeredolu on his birthday and pray that God gives him long life and good health,” Fayemi added.
Also, Bamidele described Akeredolu as a worthy leader with unparalleled qualities for good governance and service to humanity.
Bamidele, who is representing Ekiti Central Senatorial District, in a statement on Tuesday, stated that the Ondo populace won’t forget the indelible marks already made by the Ondo Governor in the last five years of his administration that has brought positive impacts in all facets of governance.
“I rejoice with you today on behalf of all the 51 Senators from the South on your 65th birthday. You have really shown and displayed uncommon phenomenon as Ondo State Governor, Chairman of the Southwest Governors’ Forum and the Chairman of the Southern Governors’ Forum.
“You have really exhibited that you are one leader with penchant for selfless service delivery and uncompromising stature on issues that affect your people. To this extent, you have carved a niche for yourself as a strong and unsuppressable voice in both regional and national politics.
“Most exhilarating and distinguishable was how you at the most trying periods provided leadership that has made you a darling of many Patriots across party lines. You are indeed a leader with inextinguishable passion.
“We pray that God imbues you with more wisdom and vitality to be able to contribute more services to your fatherland upon which Nigerians have known you to be an exemplar and a role model.”
