The All Progressives Congress (APC) has handed over the party flag to 20 local government area chairmanship candidates and 37 local council development areas candidates for the July 24 elections in Lagos State.

At the presentation held at the party secretariat in Ogba, the state Chairman of the party, Tunde Balogun, said the party expects the candidates to be victorious in the election, even as he warned them against changing the names of councillorship candidates thereby causing trouble in their council areas.

The state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who performed the flag handing-over ceremony, urged the candidates to deliver, adding that he is certain that they would make the party proud.

He admonished the candidates to take their campaigns to the grassroots to ensure the party succeeds in the forthcoming election.

“We just handed over the party flag to the chairmanship candidates and we admonish them to do deliver. Some of them were returned because they did very well in their councils,” he stated.

At the ceremony, 37 former chairmen were returned while 20 are new candidates. Also, 377 councillors were handed the party flags.
