The federal government has called on Israel and the Palestine to guarantee the rights of their citizens to live in peace and end the hostilities between the two countries.

In a statement issued yesterday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the federal government also urged the two parties to de-escalate the hostilities.

The statement signed by the spokesman of the ministry, Mr. Ferdinand Nwonye, read: “The Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to state that the Federal Government of Nigeria is watching with great concern the unfolding developments with Israel and the State of Palestine and urges both parties to see reason and de-escalate the hostilities. “The federal government further urges the two parties to remain committed to the two-state solution and, in the meantime, guarantee the rights of all citizens to live in peace and dignity.”
