PSV Coach Plans to Convince Madueke to Stay

PSV Eindhoven manager Roger Schmidt is confident that Nonso Madueke will remain at the club next season amid speculation linking the winger with possible moves to Leicester City and Manchester City in the summer.
Madueke has made only 10 starts from a possible 44 in all competitions, and Schmidt wants to create space for the winger in the starting lineup next season.

Schmidt has a plan in order to convince the England U-21 international of Nigerian descent to stay, by citing the development of Mason Mount and Phil Foden at Chelsea and Manchester City respectively.
Mount and Foden are products of Chelsea and Manchester City academies and rose through the ranks before establishing themselves as first team regulars.

Speaking to reporters at yesterday’s press conference, Schmidt said: “Noni is just such a player who can go through this development. He has the potential, but now he also needs the experience.
“He has a lot of potential playing football and mentally, but here we offer him the space to continue his development.

“We talk to him a lot. Not necessarily about the rumors. It is clear to me that he will stay.”
The 19-year-old Madueke, a product of Tottenham Hotspur academy, has been involved in 17 goals in 30 matches in the current season despite his limited game time.
