Many who know Yewande Zaccheaus are familiar with her book, God’s Waiting Room. Like most authors, the renowned lawyer and entrepreneur tells a personal story in her faith-based book. Hers is a painful yet peculiar one. After the birth of her first child, she had to endure a nine-year wait before she was able to conceive and be delivered of her second child.

It was a time of deep anxiety, fear, pain and all other emotions that go with the disappointment of not conceiving when one desires to. This part of her life journey inspired the new movie, ‘The Wait’. “This emotional and suspense-filled thriller will keep you at the edge of your seat from start to finish,” the foremost event planner posted on her Instagram page.

“This April we bring to you ‘The Wait’, a movie where the lives of two couples; a job seeker, and a passionate doctor, intertwine in a tale of patience and redemption,” Yewande had earlier informed, subtly teasing her followers via a social media post.

Produced by Eventful Nigeria in collaboration with Tolu ‘Lord’ Tanner, ahead of its April 30 cinema release, she also shared the official trailer to the Yemi Morafa and Fiyin Gambo-directed feature film.

The one minute fifty seconds trailer shows the lives of different individuals and families as they try to navigate the disappointments and obstacles of life while waiting for their moment in the sun. The pressure, emotions and trauma trailing their moments come quite unpleasant. As they unburden their fears and listen to each other while they are been counseled, they share their stories and challenges, deprived of the welcoming warmth expected of a good family home.

“My father used to say something. In his words, ‘when you walk into your home, you don’t just want to feel safe, you want to feel its welcoming warmth,’ one of the female characters could be seen telling the group. She’s been married for 10 years. But her case is made pathetic when a supposed mother-in-law character asks her in another scene “Is that not an awfully long time to be barren?!”

The Wait centers on multiple characters as they struggle through disappointments of infertility just like in Yewande Zaccheaus’s book which details the experiences of women on their journeys to fertility. With a star-studded cast including Nse Ikpe-Etim, Deyemi Okanlawon, Ini Dima Okojie, Kate Henshaw, Joke Silva, Jimmy Odukoya, Chimezie Imo and Meg Otanwa. Yewande also the executive producer gave some snippets from behind the scenes in one of her posts. “What a great time we had on the set of The Wait movie…a few of my sister friends came to hang with me on this day…we had a blast!”
