On Christmas Day 2020, over 250 Widows, single mothers and the Vulnerable gathered at the residence of Daddy K in Udu road, Ovwian, Warri.

They danced and chanted praise to God with joy, appreciating him as they received cash gifts of 5000 Naira each, food items like Rice, Beans, Garri, Onions, Noodles and clothes.
The women also had medical check ups and diagnosis, treatment for various ailments like high blood pressure, cholesterol, malaria, bacterial and fungal infections, eye problems and received free medication.

Daddy K promised to set up a foundation that will work toward making the outreach an annual event that will occur every Christmas Day. He said, this is his own way of helping those mothers who have nobody to help them out. He organized the outreach to complement efforts of the state government in alleviating the plights of the helpless and down trodden.

Speaking to our reporter, Daddy K said watching the women singing songs of thanksgiving and dancing with happiness gave him great satisfaction, especially with the tough economic situation brought on by the covid pandemic last year.

Born Joel Onoriode Akpojivi but better known as ‘DADDY K’, the Dubai based artist, businessman and philanthropist said it is the blessing of God in his life that inspires him to do works of charity. “These mothers are life givers and the foundation of the world so should be taken care of and nurtured” he said. The Widows and vulnerable at the outreach were entertained with music by DJ QuickTime.
