Atiku Returns from Vacation

The spokesperson of Atiku Presidential Campaign Organisation, Mr. Segun Sowumi has confirmed that the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has returned from his vacation trip to Dubai.

Atiku, who travelled to Dubai immediately after the PDP presidential primary, held several meetings in the middle-east country, including a strategy meeting which had in attendance, Mr. Peter Obi, his running mate; Senate President, Bukola Saraki; the party’s National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus; former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel; and Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, among others.

The strategy meeting was aimed at mapping out strategy ahead of the campaign.

Atiku was said to have arrived around 1:30am on Sunday to the waiting hands of special security squad comprising Army, Police, Custom and Immigration officers allegedly deployed to carry out a thorough search on the former Vice President and his aircraft.

It was earlier reported by a national daily that during the search, video recording gadgets and other devices were used to record the search but nothing was found on the PDP presidential candidate.

However, when contacted by THISDAY, Sowumi said he was not aware of the development, but later responded through a WhatsApp message that the PDP presidential candidate was back.

He said, “it is true.”
