The burial of the late Chief Justice of Nigeria Idris Legbo Kutigi will take place today, his son, Alhaji Sani Kutigi, has confirmed.
According to a text message sent to THISDAY by Sani, a former member of the House of Representatives, which confirmed this on Tuesday morning, said the burial would take place at Gudu Muslim burial ground in Bida, Niger state at about 5.00pm
According to him, the remains of the frontline jurist would arrive the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at about 5.00am today.
He disclosed that from the airport, the remains would be taken to the National mosque at about 2.00pm for the Janaiza (Islamic rite) before being transported to Bida the final resting place.
In the text message with the title “Burial arrangements for the late Hon. Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi (GCON) former CJN” Sani Kutigi prayed Allah to “admit him into Aljana Firdausi”.
The late Chief Justice Legbo Kutigi died in a London hospital on Saturday night. He was age 79.
