Ogun West APC Leaders Reaffirm Support for Akinlade

Prominent Ogun West leaders under the aegis of stakeholders on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Tuesday, reaffirmed their unflinching support for the governorship bid of the anointed candidate of the Governor Ibikunle Amosun, Hon Adekunle Akinlade, preparatory to the upcoming 2019 general elections.

Emerging from their senatorial district meeting held in Ilaro, Ogun State, the APC leaders made up of Alhaji Yakubu Ajayi (chairman), Chief Kayode Kajebora (Secretary), Sen Iyabo Anisulowo, Chief M.A. Olagbaye.and Chief Jide Ojuko, commended Governor Amosun for standing firm and steadfast in the struggle for the “Ogun West for governor agenda”, culminating in the mandate given to Akinlade as the APC gubernatorial candidate in Ogun state.

Besides, the Ogun West APC stakeholders seized the occasion to give their endorsement to the governorship primary held on October 2 which produced Akinlade as the candidate of the party.

In a communique issued at the end of the meeting, the stakeholders noted that they were surprised that the members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party from Abuja could declare Prince Dapo Abiodun as the standard bearer of an election that was never conducted.

However, the communiqué expressed appreciation to the two revered monarchs (the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, and Olu of Ilaro and Paramount ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, for their peaceful approach to the crisis rocking the party in the state during their visit to President Muhammadu Buhari in Aso rock on Monday.

However, the stakeholders tasked the lawmaker representing the district at the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly, Sen Gbolahan Dada, the three members of the House of Representatives and of the State House of Assembly to make their positions known concerning the “Ogun West for Governor agenda” or else they would disown them.
