The National Assembly Joint Committee on Electoral Matters headed by Senator Suleiman Nazif is at the moment meeting with the management of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, led by its Chairman, Prof Mahmud Yakubu.
The meeting holding at Senate Committee Room 117 is a follow up to the committee’s meeting on Monday which okayed the N143 billion 2019 election budget proposal sent to the National Assembly by President Muhammadu Buhari on July 17.
Tuesday’s meeting will give the INEC team opportunity to re-prioritise its election budget in line with N143 billion approved by the committee.
According to Senator Nazif who spoke before the commencement of today’s meeting , the outcome of the Executive Session will be made known to the public on Wednesday.
