Tecno Empowers Entrepreneurs

The Tecno Mobile 2018 ‘Light Up Your Dream’ campaign came to an end last week as four budding fans and entrepreneurs each went home with N1 million, having emerged winners in this year’s campaign.

The campaign was designed to empower young entrepreneurs and start–ups in achieving their dreams.

According to Tecno, it received thousands of entries on different works, from where 20 entries were selected, and the participants invited to make a live pitch before fans, staff, executives, guests and judges, including Actress Bisola Aiyeolaof Big Brother fame and celebrity blogger, Noble Igwe, at an event which took place in Lagos.

The first two grand prize winners includedJeremiah Okoh and Henry Emeka Nnamani.

In addition to winning N1 million each, the grand prize winners also got a brand new Tecno Spark2 smartphone each.

While the contestants who came 3rd – 10th position went home with brand new Tecno Spark2 smartphones, those in 11th to 20th position went home with brand new rechargeable fans.

It was an emotional moment for one of the grand prize winners, Okoh, a ginger Agropreneur from Kaduna, when he spoke on how grateful he is to God and Tecno.

According to him, “Standing here and holding this cheque is a dream on its own. I cannot believe this. My friend drew my attention to this activity, I decided to give it a shot and see me today, I really cannot believe this is me holding a N1 million cheque in my hands” 

Also speaking at the event, PR and Strategic Partnership Manager, TecnoNigeria, Mr. Jesse Oguntimehin said,“You  already know that at Tecno, giving is part of our DNA. Nigeria is filled with a lot of talented people that do not have the opportunity to bring that dream to the fore due to several reasons which of course includes finance. So, we are doing our bit by providing the finance to make things easier for them and we are very glad to get these young dreamers closer to their dream.”
