After her stunning performance at the premiere of the one-woman show ‘Naked’ in February, actress Kemi ‘Lala’ Akindoju is set to grace the stage again for another epic show.
The organisers, The Make It Happen Productions (TMIHP) and The Performing Arts Workshop and Studios (PAWS) made the announcement recently.
‘Naked’ was first shown to the public earlier this year during the British Council’s Lagos Theatre Festival. It was met with applause and positive reviews particularly for Akindoju, who pulled such a fantastic and courageous act.
Directed by Festival Director for the British Council Lagos Theatre Festival, Kenneth Uphopho who is also the co-founder of PAWS, ‘Naked’ is a one woman show that takes its audience on an intimate journey of the highs, lows, achievements and failures of a young woman’s experiences as she navigates through life, love, career and finding her path. This is done using deep thoughts that are usually never shared with others and is a raw honest look behind the human mask.
The play is written by award-winning spoken-word poet, Titilope Sonuga, while Lala,  founder of TMIHP produced it alongside  Brenda Uphopho, co-founder of PAWS with Oludara Egerton Shyngle as associate producer.
“I’m more excited to be collaborating with some of the best people in this industry. I’m honored and grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with these people especially because they are like family. Collaborations make dreams come alive quicker,” said Lala in excitement.
The second run of the play will be a three-day affair kicking off on August 10 till 12, 2018 at the Presidential Suite of Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
