The outcome of last Saturday’s All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary in Ekiti State has proven that Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Minister of Solid Minerals, is one politician who understands the game of politics like the back of his hands.
He shone like a glittering star at the election, in spite of the controversies and bickering that earlier played up.
Since Fayemi clinched the ticket, he has proved beyond reasonable doubt that he is indeed a good sportsman, as he visited the other contestants offering the proverbial olive branch.
He has been able to muster all the political might and muscle in his arsenal to garner a sizeable followership for himself and the party on the road to his second coming as the governor of Ekiti State.
Even the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state and, perhaps the foremost archrivals in the July 14 governorship election, are already getting jittery on the growing popularity of Fayemi. Bespectacled Fayemi has deployed his wisdom to ensure victory in the coming election. At the national, state, local government and ward levels, Fayemi has entrenched himself positively.
