The Katsina State Government has commenced the recruitment of 5,000 primary school teachers into the state civil service under its S-Power programme.

The exercise, which is under the chairmanship of the Secretary to Katsina State Government, Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa, is being conducted by 12 centres established across the 34 local government areas of the state.

Addressing the applicants thursday at Dutsin-Ma, Faskari, Musawa, Malumfashi, Funtua and Safana screening centres, Inuwa said all the applicants would be treated equally irrespective of tribal, religion and political affiliations.

“The S-Power programme was introduced by Governor Aminu Bello Masari-led administration to recruit 5,000 qualified primary school teachers across the state.

“S-Power programme would only recruit on merit. The screening exercise which begins today at various centres in the state would last for three days”, he said.

The S-power committee chairman, however warned that any applicant recruited under the programme would be grossly monitored to ensure he or she do the work before they get paid.

“For those who might not be absorbed at the end of the exercise, I urge you to be patient because government is planning for another package that would take care of you”, Inuwa added.
