“Mummy Dearest: The Wedding,†a sequel to the 2015 movie of same title recently premiered in Lagos at Filmhouse IMAX cinema. The event was attended by Kiki Omeili, Kris D, Daniel K Daniel, Uti Nwachukwu, Kene Mkparu, Kelechi Amadi Obi,Chris Okagbue among others.
The movie tells the story of a young man, Chijioke Chinda, who was sent to his home town Port Harcourt to head his company’s project.
Knowing that he’s becoming successful in life, he decides to propose to his girlfriend, Boma Koko. After that giant move, Boma begins to assume the position of a prospective wife which naturally does not sit well with Chijioke’s mum, Rose Chinda.
Hence, attention tussle ensues between the ladies and culminates with Chijioke and Boma’s big wedding. The sequel stars Liz Ameye, Daniel K. Daniel, Uti Nwachukwu and Mary Lazarus, with cameo appearances from Marvis Nkpornwi, Melvin Oduah, and Chris Okagbue.
Produced and directed by Willis Ikedum, the original movie told the story of a loving and caring mother whose love and care is seen by her son as “overbearingâ€.
“Mummy Dearest: The Wedding†is showing in cinemas across Nigeria.
