Laleye Dipo in Minna

Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, has told newly sworn in commissioners that they should see their appointments as a call to service and not a call for personal aggrandisement.

Bello gave the charge in Minna Wednesday shortly after swearing in four members of the state executive council who were recently screened and cleared for the positions by the state House of Assembly.

“You should see your appointments as an opportunity to serve the people and a clarion call for commitment in the discharge of your duties,” the governor declared

He said that the commissioners came into government at “very challenging times when politicking has started”, adding that they would have to “combine their official duties with pressure from the people”.

Bello therefore charged the four commissioners to be dedicated, committed and hardworking in the discharge of their duties.
