Ondo: Navy, Army Rescue Four Chinese Nationals

Four  Chinese nationals had been  rescued by the officers and men of Nigerian Army and Nigerian Naval Forward Operating Base Igbokoda from kidnappers in Ilaje Local Government of Ondo State.

The victims were kidnapped on their way from Lagos through Ayetoro Creek to Ogooluayo community along Ebute

The rescue of the victims, was disclosed by the Assistant Director of the Army Public Relations located at the 323 Brigade, Owena Barrack, Akure, Major Ojo Adenegan.

“In cause of the joint routine patrol on the Waterway, the men of the Nigerian Army and Navy intercepted  the sea pirates and their victims. ” It took the gallant effort of our men to rescued the four Chinese who have sustained gun wounds from the Kidnappers.

“The rescued victims are receiving treatment in hospital, during the operation one of kidnappers was arrested and is undergoing interrogation while other kidnappers fled with gun wounds”, he said.

Adenegan said the operation was made possible with the assistance  of youths of Ogooluwa community led by Mr. Job Omogunwa.

He said the youths joined Naval and Army team in the operation which is an evidence of good community relations between the Military and members in our area of responsibility.

Adelegan called on members of the public especially in the riverine areas of Ondo State to avail the brigade with useful information on the fleeing kidnappers with gun wounds.

“We are using this medium to inform the general public that the security agencies in Ondo State are at alert to continue protecting lives and properties in Ondo State”, he said.
