Nemesis has caught up with three herdsmen for attempted murder of a farmer on his farmland.
The incident occurred wednesday at Imedu farm, Oko-Odo, via Oke-Odan, in Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The three herdsmen identified as Mohammed Bello, 40 years, Muhammed Momoh, 30 years, and Yisau Umoru, 18 years, were arrested, following an information received by the police that one Ige Orisade was attacked and severely wounded by the herdsmen when the victim confronted them to know the reason they allowed their cattle to graze on his farm, thereby destroyed his farms’ crops.
It was gathered that an argument ensued in the process during which the herdsmen inflicted several machete cuts on him before they escaped into the nearby bush.

Upon the strength of the information received, it was learnt that the Commander in-charge of Ilaro Area Command headquarters, Titus Musa, swiftly dispatched a team of armed policemen to the scene and the bush was thoroughly combed in conjuction with local vigilante, at the end of which the three suspects were arrested.

Ogun State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident and said an AK-49 riffle, with serial number 513, 49 live rounds of 0.8mm ammunition, 26 live cartridges and two sharp cutlasses were recovered from the arrested suspects.

He added that efforts have been intensified to apprehend other fleeing suspects with their arms.
However, he said that the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the operatives attached to the Federal Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) for a discreet investigation into the incident.

Besides, Oyeyemi said that the CP had ordered that the fleeing members of the gang must be hunted for and brought to book, while assuring residents of the State of adequate security at all time.
